Betdaq is a brand that is very much up and coming, though it’s fair to say they are certainly progressive and very innovative. The brand has seen huge growth recently, and around one hundred million pounds is gambled on a weekly basis, they also have a fast growing user base to match that. Betdaq is not like a typical bookie, it is a betting exchange, which allows you to play at odds set by your peers, rather than by the site, which means usually the odds are up to 20% better. Also, at a betting exchange you can bet for outcomes not to happen (known as laying), as well as betting for them to happen. This is great for some, as you have a choice of playing a punter (essentially a bookmaker) in fact some people actually do both, trading for guaranteed profits in the process.

History

Betdaq has been around since the year 2000, and was created by Irish Entrepreneur Dermot Desmond, who is no stranger to good business ideas, with many other businesses in a large variety of sectors. He has a large holding in parts of the transport and leisure industry, including a luxury resort in Barbados, known as Sandy Lane, and he’s also a large shareholder in the Celtic football club. The company is presently located and of course registered in Dublin, Ireland.

Betdaq, or Global Betting Exchange as it is officially known, first commenced trading in 2025, and quickly gained a foot hold in the peer to peer betting market. Betdaq runs on completely proprietary software which is copyright protected throughout the whole of the European Union, meaning you won't experience the same software anywhere else online.

What is on offer?

Betdaq offers its users over thirteen different sports markets to bet on, and each sport has a large market selection. There’s all the classic favourites on offer such as horse racing, cricket and of course football. There's some slightly less popular, and somewhat obscure selections as well, such as General election politics.

Betdaq, like other betting exchange, allows you to bet on something happening (or winning), and also allows you to bet on something not happening (or losing). This is known as backing (to win) or laying (to lose).

In fact, if you’re betting for something to win at high odds, and you return at a later date and find the odds have dropped slightly, you can lay the bet. This can then be used to your advantage, you are then able to lay the bet as well, and in doing so, because of the odds difference you can lock in guaranteed profits in the process. Plus, the site has absolutely no issues with this, as unlike a bookmaker, a betting exchange only makes money when you win (commission) so they inadvertently promote this.

The team at Low risk winner are hoping to introduce a video at some stage to demonstrate how this is done, so check back frequently.

What makes them better than other exchanges?

Betdaq takes a much lower commission in comparison with some of the market leaders, who take as much as 5%. At Betdaq though, you only pay 3%, and sometimes on selected events, you don't pay any commission at all, so be sure to keep your eye out for those promotions on the homepage.

Now, Betdaq only ever makes money if the user wins, so they set up a tipping site betdaqtips to provide you with some good value bets, and also some statistics on up and coming games too. They also have a site which is totally dedicated to the NFL as well, again providing players with lots of useful statistics and insights.
